Well, this has been a stressful week! My car broke down on Wednesday. Ick. It was the timing belt. Timing Belt=Expensive! Then this morning our service consultant at the dealership called to say the timing belt was finished but they found that the cooling fan wasn't working! Egad!
Even I know that the cooling fan is pretty important, car overheating is bad. As I learned in my old Cavalier, which suffered great abuse at my hands and kept on trucking along. It had a leak in the coolant so I carried around a gallon of water to refill it before I could head home from work. Finally, my sweet and wonderful Daddy replaced the engine for me, and she lived for another year or two. Until I wrecked her. I could have even gotten that repaired but MB and I had been talking about replacing the Cavy anyhow, so I got Delilah, the Seabring convertible. She is still beautiful and, like my dogs, must live forever...Wow. I totally got sidetracked.
Anyhow...Cooling fan had to be replaced, too. Tacking another estimated $450 + tax onto the bill. I felt a little sick hearing that, but what can you do? So this morning I thought we'd have a bill for like $2K. Which is definitely more than I hoped. I was hoping that we'd get out for $1500 when it was just the timing belt.
Happily our service consultant is super awesome and told me about a coupon for 10% off on their website and gave us any discount he could, so our grand total was under $1,500! I am so relieved!
Now after this super stressful week, maybe MB and I can finish Dexter season 5 (I know, we are sooo behind!!) and catch up on Once Upon a Time!
