Mistborn--Totally Awesome

I finished it.  Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson the first book of the Mistborn Triology.  Awesome!  I couldn't wait to start the second one, which I lucky had already loaded onto my ereader.  Good call with that one.

The magic element is very interesting, the system used in this universe is based on burning certain metals internally to gain specific abilities.  Most people have no abilities, some have the ability to burn one metal--they are "Mistings", and a very few can burn all the metals--they are the Mistborn.

The world is ruled by an immortal ruler who has proclaim himself God and has made any of the descendants of his allies the nobility and descendants of his enemies are slaves--all owned by the Lord Ruler and leased to the nobility to do with as they please.  This first novel of the trilogy of the story of the overthrow of this Lord Ruler.

There are multiple heroes in this story from a survivor of the deadliest mines in the empire, a street urchin who comes into her own power, and a nobleman who sees the corrupt in the world and wants change.  There is political intrigue, fighting, rebellion, and a sweet love story.
